This UK national weather service required business support for a number of Programmes including Commercial Services, IT Services, Forecasting and Observations. It also needed business support for a number of high value strategic business cases (GBP £4m-£26m).

The Journey

• Provided business support and financial management for the operational Programme Heads, reporting to the Executive board.
• Produced and presented to the Executive board detailed scenario based investment appraisals for strategic business cases.
• Partnered with the Commercial team to develop the business case for ‘Route-based forecasting’.
• Supported the Media department’s business case for the renegotiation of a national TV contract.
• Partnered with the Defence programme on a business case to deliver efficiencies in services to the Ministry of Defence.
• Produced post project evaluation reports including recommendations to the Executive board.
• Worked with IT Services in the development of ‘Continuous Performance Improvement’ benchmarking.
