Community Services Charity
This NZ charity had been recognised for its success working with vulnerable young people and their families. They had received funding to; 1. strengthen their own organisation and 2. to take their model of working into three other communities by strengthening other like-minded organisations.
The Journey
1. Strengthening the organisation
- Introduced new accounting system, processes, and reporting structure.
- Upgraded the IT network, servers and website.
- Strengthened the financial position through profitable contracts, attracting funding, and prudent financial management.
- Promoted the vision to foundations, the government and government ministries.
- Led strategy workshops for the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team using agile design.
- Supervised the development of a client management system that captured their model of working to allow the replication of that model in other communities.
2. Strengthening collaborating organisations
- Collaborated with a tertiary education provider to deliver NCEA level 2 for young people outside of mainstream education in four communities.
- Facilitated regional collaboration meetings of four organisations.
- Delivered the funders objectives of working with other communities
The Outcome
- New accounting system and financial procedures
- New IT network & servers
- New Board reporting
- New contracts for services
- Attracted further funding
- More young people supported
